Players

Each team consists of five players, including the goalkeeper and an unlimited amount of substitutions, from a selection of 3 to 5 players. Substitutions are allowed at any time but the active player must come off the field before the sub can come in. Shoes are not allowed, although ankle and shin guards are permitted.

Match length

A game lasts forty minutes and is split up into four ten minute periods. Every beach soccer match is won by one team, with the game going into a penalty shootout if the score is still on level terms after normal time.

Additional Rules

Captains will RoShamBo for possession/goal then alternate  each period. The shooting order is M/F/M and have the same rules as a penalty kick. If the game is tied at the end of the shootout, the game will end in a tie.

The ball is placed at mid field and has to be touched or passed at least once by any player before the ball is kicked by a different player. No DIRECT shots on goal!

Once the game begins the Goalie cannot touch the ball with his/her hands past the penalty box.

If a player makes contact with the ball with their hand, that team will lose possession. The opposing team will kick in from the spot. If there is a hand ball inside of the box, it will result in a penalty kick to the opposing team.

If a player makes contact with the ball with their hand during a shot on goal, the opposing team will receive a penalty shot.  All penalty shots will be taken five yards from the penalty box for a male player and the penalty box line for a female player!

When the ball goes out of bounds on the Goalie side, it must be kicked in and can be kicked in by ANY player.

There are no yellow or red cards, however excessive aggressiveness will result in ejection of the game, suspension from the league or a lifetime ban. In other words, lets have some fun out there!
